Advice ---- MK Indy or Tiger Avon
Discussion
Hi everyone ,
i am new to all this, i am looking at buying my first kit car . dont think i have the patience to build it myself so i am looking for a pre built one.
just a few questions i hope someone can help me with .
I think i am going to go for one with a bike engine.
1. First of all which is best , Tiger Avon or MK Indy ?
2. Is it best to buy a Q plate of an Age related plate car?
3. Do you need reverse if you go for the bike engine?
4. If you go far an age related plate car can you put a private plate on the car . say car is registered as a G plate but was built in 2006 could i put my private M plate on the car as it says 2006 on the log book ?
i probably have loads more questions but cant think at the moment .
hope someone can help me . dont want to part with my cash and end up regreting it .

1. Can't answer.
2. Shouldn't really matter - Q denotes age of car unknown - but it shouldn't affect the quality of the build (which should be your primary concern).
3. You can push it if you don't have a reverse gear, but that does depend on how light it is, whether you need to push it uphill and the like. A reverse box would make it more practical.
4. Normally no, for the same reason you can't put an M plate on a G plated car (you're making it appear newer than it really is).

if you lived nearer id take you out in my indy fireblade and you can see what you think. Get onto locostbuilders.co.uk and ask the same questions, some very helpfull people there that may be nearer to you to take you for a ride in either.
I have a 954cc injected blade lump in mine, and it recently kept up with a porsche 997 gt3 round a track. If the track was bigger with more straights then obviously i doubt i would have done, but thats just to give you an idea of how well they go.
Mine weighs around 450kgs, its very light and has no need for a reverse.
