HI

I have had this clicking noise when turning since I've had the car, just wondering if this is a known problem with the trackrod ends , or a normal noise?
Its a metal click sound that happens when I'm turning and the suspension gets a sudden jolt. I have looked under hte car and got someone to push on the body work whilst on full lock, and it looks like the noise is happening when the track rod ends turn. They seem to click if you grab hold of them and twist them all the way one way, then they click again when they reach all the way the other way

Any ideas?

By no means an expert but what about knackered UJs on your steering column?

Thanks for the reply, dont think its the UJ's as the noise is coming direct from the track rods. i will explain in more detail

I have the Chim 400 1994 powersteering version. If I go under the car and grab the track rod it turns freely. If you rotate the rod (i.e. so the track rod rotates but the wheel and other steering parts stay stationary) at a reasonable speed it clicks when it reaches some kind of stopper . then if you turn it back the other way it clicks at a stopper again.
The clicking is coming from the end of the track rod that goes to the steering rack (under the rubber boot bit)

Is there some bushes or something at that point that could have worn?

Any help appreciated
