I've had my 2003 Tamora for as couple of weeks now and I need to plug in my Optimate charger - no problem you all cry - plug it into the cigarette lighter. Great idea but my car doesn't seem to have one - there's a hole there for it but it is nicely covered over with a flap of carpet! The ashtray is there.
Was the cigarette lighter a deletable option, or has it dropped inside the transmission tunnel?
Yes I will post a picture of the car on my profile but I can't do it from work - what an incredible car!

Fag lighter was an optional extra. I fitted one to my Tamora last summer - there's a topic about it, if you can find it on a search.

Had to remove the centre console, cut a hole in the carpet, fit the lighter (bought it from a TVR dealer, but it's a generic type available on eBay. I can probably dig out the part number later on), along with a backing plate (basically just a huge washer to stop it pulling through the fibreglass).

The biggest problem is your car might not have the section of wiring loom - the factory made one for me (while there was still a factory, of course), but once you've found the connector it should be easy enough to wire in yourself.

or buy an anderson connector ~£8, a bit of wire, soldering iron and plug the charger in to the jump start socket by the front wheel?

Changed my name to suit my new status.
When the car is in the garage there is not enough room to get to the passenger's side.
I intend to add a small connector on a flying lead from the battery and route it up to below the steering wheel so that I can connect the charger there.
