d'Antin Ducati have terminated Hoffman's contract after he retired from Sunday's race claiming he was 'lacking motivation'.

I'm sure he'll be greatly missed and Kurtis Roberts will have to get used to looking at the back of someone else's bike now.

This surely must open the door for Chaz Davies?

Just been reading that too. He had a good test at Mugello and the boss likes him, especially after being shown some videos of him beating Casey Stoner in UK 125cc championship races. A recommendation from Casey and I think he's a favourite, certainly to finish off the season with them.

Thats great news for Chaz, I wonder if that will give him any chance of a ride in 2008?

Bridgestone test rider Shinichi Itoh has got the ride for the Japanese GP at Motegi, understandably for his local knowledge and experience. He's an ex-GP rider and I think was the first person to go over 200mph during qualifying for the German GP in 1993 when he also got pole position. (Correct me if I'm wrong).
