Does anyone know the criteria for making cameras visible? Reason I ask, is that all the cameras in Watford are in the open and a lovely shade of yellow, but there are a few in Hemel Hempstead (same county) that are battleship grey and hidden behind signs.

Surely ALL the cameras countywide should be the same?

It is summat to do with whether the local authorities can keep the money from the camera.

If it is grey it goes to the government, if painted brightly eg orange then local authority get a cut.

It is to do with the capping off system that many forces are involved in.

The Govt has told forces involved in capping off that they should make the cameras visible. This however is not mandatory and they do not have to do so.
