I've got these on my B Pillars, and they irritate me now I've got nearly all the badges off. They look like they'll just peel off - is this the case? I don't want to attack them with my usual hairdryer/lighter fuel combo and then find they're critical components.

There was some debate on another topic that this advises the emergency services of airbags in the pillars and was therefore neccessary

I searched but couldn't find it

I've taken them off both my monaros ( god rest Kylie )
They peel off easily enough once you get it started - I used a stanley blade initially very carefully.
The adhesive came off with surgical spirit - guess lighter fluid would be the same.
T cut and then a polish sorted out the paint match.

I posted about the Emergency Services.

The stickers are there to warn the Emergency Services that your car is fitted with airbags. Sometimes after an impact, your airbags will not deploy straight away, but deploy after a short period of time.

If you have a neck injury (remember your airbag hasn't deployed, so it's highly likely), being hit by the bag after injury could have devastating results. If the Emergency Services know about it, they can ratchet a device over the steering wheel/seat backs etc to stop the bags fully deploying.

Also, if the Paramedic is just about to perform an emergeny procedure with you still in the drivers seat and the bag deploys behind his elbow...... ouch

Not sure of the legal position if you took your stickers off and an emergency worker was injured by your airbag - Solicitor anyone?

As someone who has had to crawl around car wrecks and treat casualties, PLEASE don't take off the SRS Stickers.

as someone who sometimes has to go out to RTCs and chop up wrecks, we tend to assume that all newer cars have lots of airbags all over the place!
the only one we can sometmes do something about is the s.wheel one: most of the others are not quite as violent either.
we try to check on the appliance's on-board computer (which has car data on it) to see where they might be, so I will check if the Monaro is listed.
the actual location of the airbags tends to be embossed into the plastic/ leather, which can be a help.
Not sure of the legal situation, but IMHO the stickers on the B posts are not that informative.
