Vw Bora problem

My Uncle who has a 2000 1.4 Bora has a problem with car, When the steering wheel is on full lock it makes a very coarse sound, anyway when you continue driving it still makes the sound. It almost sounds as if the car is going in reverse, when its not Anybody have any ideas as to what it is?

Be careful, the PAS fluid is VWs is a special mineral oil and not normal ATF like most cars.
