4.5 to 5.0

Have just got hold of a late (cross bolted,large journal) 4.5 chimaera engine in need of a bit of a rebuild and have had a thought. Is it possible to buy a 5.0 crank, rods and pistons (maybe forged pistons and did I hear chevy rods can be machined to fit)to make my 4.5 a 5.0

In principle anything is possible, but even assuming you match the bore wouldn't you basically end up buying most of a 500? A 4.6 is only a little down on torque and seems likely to offer far more bang per buck.

You can get one of Boosted's big cranks from V8d if its cc's you want The pistons, rods, cam and valve gear all need to be 'matched' for what you want there are soo many options... Just 4.6 + good heads tho is prob a good starting point IMHO.
