Hi Guys,

After months of looking and numerous test drives, I’ve finally found her. 05 T350C in moonraker black. The deposit is down and hopefully picking her up at the weekend, if I can get everything sorted by then as I’ve just got back from a quick hols. well anyways question for you...

Ive read loads of threads on warranty related topics, but stil cant find what I'm after. As I purchased privately I’m looking at some type of warranty. I know it still has the 3 year warranty on the vehicle from new, however its not worth the paper its written on, unless someone knows something I don’t! I’ve heard / read (I think) somewhere that TVR may be re-standing by these soon, but can’t see that to be honest!

OK here’s the predicament. I’m after piece of mind, however as the cars done only 9.5K well looked after and maintained miles I’m not too worried about the engine turning to poo at this stage (or am I being very naive)

Basically I’m after (if such a thing exists) some type of warranty that will coff up for any TVR mischief without costing me 1400K a year (like the auto protect ones). If the engine isn’t covered I’m not too bothered but would like everything else to be in the deal.

However if you all think that the ‘autoprotect - full wear and tear’ is really the only option to take, then I’ll swallow hard and go for it.

Cheers
Dom

There was talk on either the main TVR forum or the Cerbera forum of the AA offering a warranty which cost £55 per year and you were allowed X number of claims a year up to the value of £500.

A search should find information about it. Outwardly seems like a good deal, OK it won't pay for a rebuild or a gearbox but will cover medium size niggles and the first £500 of more "major" issues....

think the AA one is 3 claimes per year, but they need to recover you for you to be able to claim.

i'd not bother with the hastle of a warrentee as by reading on here its seem abit touch and go if they pay (do a search) keeep putting £1500 pa in a savings account would be a better bet.

good luck
