Yes the ticket is due yet again!
This years dilema is whilst its in the garage (i just know its gonna fail). I need the valley gasket changed cos the araldite wont last much longer. So that means new head gaskets which will cure the frothy coolant but just in case i'll get the rad and all hoses changed! which will finally cure the overheating!
so this would be a good opportunity to change the timing chain.
Question is, do i get a nice shiny new cam at the same time and still get change from a grand?and can i have new cam without rechipping ecu or new valves etc.(its a flapper)

Dicky!
Is the cam knackered? If it's a standard 350i and it is I'd change to a new version of the same cam as if you upgrade you may need to change other bits - talk to V8Developments or Tim at ACT. You imply you need to change the head gaskets coz you got to do the valley gasket! The latter can be done without doing the head gasket! If you can do the Cam, Timing chain, head gaskets, valley gasket and the radiator and hoses for a grand it sounds a good deal.
