Hello im reaching spec non changeable point for my 335d m sport and I cant shake the images of a white car Donut of here had recently it was luveeeeeeeerly!

Got these images off e92post.com as a taster

I already have a saphire/red in se trim and I just cant make my mind up for my M sport. I know residually black is possibly more universal but its my car so bugger anyone else driving

Whadya all think, specially Donut on residuals scratchchin

PS Id like to have a red interior again but might be a tad too OTT on a white car so maybe black?

Personally I would pay the £600 for individual paint and go with Moonstone, not flat white it is more like a mother of pearl colour, but still looks white, fresh and modern.....

White then! wink

To be honest you will loose thousands on a new one anyway, so get the colour you prefer.

I think white with red interior will look good. Its a classic combination. Just look at the beautiful classic Jags for example from the sixties and seventies and before that were in white with red leather interior... can't remember any BMW's from that era with that colour combo but go for it.

That is absolutely stunning, with a cream interior especially.

Can't say I'm a big fan of any of the shades of white though; hate to say it, but it looks cheap and ever so slightly tacky .....

...colour creates illusions....

big car + light colour = less weighty, can make car seem smaller (but also if inappropriate can look 'wrong' eg a metallic pink M5 could/would look wrong
big car + dark colour = heavy car, more serious

small car + light colour = lighter car - more inconsequential, better handling, more nimble
small car + dark color = heavier car - details can get lost - a 'sporty' 2 seater convertible in black may not look as sporty as the same car in a bright red

Mix in with this your own ideas towards certain colours and your choice will emerge. Ask 10 dfferent people what looks good and you will (probably) get 10 different answers..

My view is that white looks great on smaller cars and those with a more sporting intent. On a car like a 3 coupe then I would be more inclined to stick with the darker more solid metallics - no light blues, whites or creams and I would tend towards the more robust colours - mainly because for me I associate darker colours with presence...(My M5 is carbon black, by previous 2 328s were also variations on metallic blacks, saab 900s were red, small hatchback type things were whites and reds)

I have thought about this and I love the white coupes so I have gone for-

  • E92 335d msport, acrtic white, Coral red leather, 19`s, dark grey wood trim.
Changed the dash trim to wood as im not too fond of the red leather with silver trim. I wish I could have the piano black/coral combo I have in my current 335d se as it looks fabulous.licklicklicklicklicklicklicklicklicklicklick

Part of my descision process was made thinking that the world does not need another black, siver or grey BMW and white is a little different from the norm. Delivery is due first week of September so I will have to fin a buyer for my current 335d coupe.
