Getting colder
Discussion
first morning I needed to add my windproof liner to my leather jacket on the way to work .
all down hill from now then I guess for the next 6 months
why on hell is there a 18 sign on this thread?

Yep, This morning was an experiment in cold weather adaptability . Luckily the commute is only 4 mins on the bike, would not have been able to get off otherwise, I do not have any windproof trousers. I think I am going to have to get the credit card out again and buy some! I am not ready to stop using the bike yet. When do you guys hang up the helmet for winter?
did my first winter last year and survived (with trousers!)
thought I'd get away with a jumper under the summer jacket this morning but was very wrong! I find getting the textile winter jacket out really depressing. Might try and move onto leathers with a windproof underneath for a while...

Indeed it was much colder even in London than recently. To be honest its usually Nov for me when the termal lining and winter gloves come out. Though without windproof gear you'd have definitely felt it today.
The summer only riders tend to die away from now onwards during the commute leaving us 'hardcore' winter commuters which I happily prefer as it makes my life easier.

Never, the only time the bike doesn't go out is if there is ice on the roads apart from that it's all year round for me.Put the neck tube on this morning as it was a tad colder but still haven't switched on the heated grips on the R1 just yet
