Edo Launches In-Yer-Face GT2

The bodykit that Batman would be proud of

So subtle you'd barely notice it
So subtle you'd barely notice it
With the paint barely dry on the first batch of 997 GT2s, the chaps at German motorsport and tuning Haus, edo Competition, have just launched their interpretation of the out-going GT2 model.

Based on the 996 GT2, edo has developed a whole range of add-ons which can be chosen at will. These include a raft of carbon fibre aero-parts, including a wide-body bodykit and a conversion to give your car the look of the latest 997, beefed up 380mm brakes, fully-adjustable suspension co-developed by KW and most importantly they can upgrade the engine to produce 680bhp and 642 lb-ft of shove.

Other 996 owners shouldn’t feel left out either, as edo can fit most of the add-ons to the rest of the range, although non-turbo cars won’t get such a hike in performance. Hopefully, the full-blown edo’s monster wings will tame the original 996 GT2’s dynamics which were something of an acquired taste.

Well you wouldn't want your GT2 feeling inadequate when you park it next to a Corsa/Saxo outside Halfrauds, would you.

Why would anyone want their 996 GT2 to look like a 997 GT2?

If you could afford a 996 in the first place, then you could probably afford to upgrade to a 997 anyway. Probably cheeper than adding a god awful body kit onto it.

Note:These Tuning Companies are only Located in Germany, but the Design isnt
German Taste-Its Croatian Taste.
The Owner of Edo Competition is Edo Karabegovic, and hes from Croatia.
And Mansory is from India,The Owner is Kouroush Mansory.
Mansory and Edo builds mostly for Russian and Arabian Customers.
Peoples from the Balkan and the Arabian Area like the Style of these Modified Cars-its his Taste.
I have seen a Interview in German TV,with the Owners.
His Statement to his Cars was"We build only for the Export outside Germany"

never mind the car, what i want to know is how to these companies get their hands on BBS wheels when the company has apparently gone bust? I was told there are none left in the uk at any rate, which is a great shame as i'm after a set of LM's irked

It doesn't ruin it though, because it's a race replica. It looks just like the GT2 racecars that PSI and others campaigned in Belcar for many years - and on track they looked brilliant.

I like it. It's not OTT at all for a car with 680PS - and it produces a quantity of downforce, which is always handy.

Looks damn good.

And here's a PSI Porsche in a Belcar race at Brands:

BBS was bought by a Belgian company a few weeks ago. Production is carrying on, unaffected, and the future looks suitably bright.

Looks fantastic!

Who would not love to own a race car like that? The silver unit.

is it just me or does it look more like a 993 at the front than a 997.

yum Looks great, i'd put one on mine (if I had one to start). It looks a bit like a 959 in the picture of the side of the car. A bit confused why they tried to make it look like a 997 - the 993 was the best looking one lately in my opinion.

Me too, although I think that Porche's effort was probably better looking!
