Advice before buying a Maserati 3200GT

Funny you say that, I'm planning on chopping in my Cerbera as well, along with a couple of other cars from the fleet.
As a rough guide I've found menu servicing cost from reputable dealers around £650 for a 6k miles service, Cam Belt for £400 and multiples of that plus a bit more every 18k miles...

Chaps,
There's lots of advice on here about 3200's. Have you read previous posts?

In simple terms if the car is sorted you can expect those annual servicing costs to be realistic.
However..... mileage/usage is important. I bought a "high mileage" car (56k!!!) very cheaply, and promptly sunk £3-4k in to getting it "right", since when I have used it daily commuting in all weathers with no hint of trouble. Call it a £20k car. However....
The most important thing to note is that mileage is largely irrelevant, a neighbour has one the same year but with half the miles and main dealer serviced from new.....and in the last twelve months he needed all the same stuff I did, not because it was worn out, it was just too old. His car would retail at £20k before the repairs, just because the mileage is percieved to be attractive.
Moral - go on condition and history, get a really good PPI (Emblem is the only firm I can recommend from experience of three "favoured" firms) and wait - the right one will come!!

Just been to see a 7 year old one, 20,000 miles and my God, the amount of stuff that's been replaced was shocking!!! All main dealer stuff, all the usual points noted in previous posts had been done etc. surely it's good for many more miles before this stuff will need looking at again and also I can't believe there is anything else that could go wrong...???
You couldn't fault the service history and the condition was excellent, usual little things you'd expect from a hand built Italian but generally all as it should be... Are the amount of replacement parts this car needed within 20,0000 miles a good or bad point when looking to take it on???
One other question, from a cold start the engine was ever so slightly hunting, once warm this stopped, I'm talking very slight 950-1050revs for 2-3 minutes? normal or not?

Mine hunts on idle 70% of the time, I was told it's normal, with some doing it, and some not.You couldn't fault the service history and the condition was excellent, usual little things you'd expect from a hand built Italian but generally all as it should be... Any update Dodge? It's a tough call between that and the 996??
The deed is done... After looking at 4 cars this last week, I found a peach. Slightly higher mileage than I was looking for, although with a flawless history and a great warranty deal etc. etc. also had a great experience with the dealer (praise to follow once car is picked up and everything gone well etc.)Thanks to everyone who offered advice both on and off line, and loads of previous post on the subject we're very helpful!
Once I've had it out for a hoon, I'll hopefully be back with excited waffle

Cheers

Its got double the mileage of the other cars I've seen but it was so much better all round and was the better drive also with the correct service history it should be pretty sorted, kets hope so

Cracking colour combo. See, 48k isnt high miles for a 7 year old car, IMO. I'd rather have that than a car with 10k that has hardly been used.
