GP Masters - Winding up order served

Seems like the end of the old boys series.

what ever happened to the talk of master driving the dtm's?
i remember Prost and mansell 2 years ago having a blast and it looked good
I think the trouble with anything like this is that if it doesn't actualy matter, ie no prize money, no title to realy be bothered with, its hard to get too excited by it, As a fan anyway.
i think the way forward with anything like this again is to use them for what they are, exhibitions. like the tennis masters Mc Enroe and Borg etc play a match here and there and you cast an eye towards it here and there, ah nostalgic, lovely, but to try and dig up old careers ( some of those F1 masters had never won anything!) and turn it into a job again is a loser.

Problem is too many people trying to make a buck out of motorsport.
The Challenge, Fantasy F1 (or whatever the football thing is now called), the single seater series with the WTCC from the N Technology (Formula Master?), Italian F3000, F3000 Masters (amongst others)
GP2 and WSR seem to share teams and drivers.
A1GP survives by being out of season but GP2 Asia will surely challenge it.
How many single seater series can the market support?

The only reason that anyone was interested was because Mansell was doing it and he was only in because he wanted extra publicity for his sons racing.
I mean Danner? A Grand Prix Master?
I actually miss this series.
If anyone saw the lights to flag battle between Mansell and Fittipaldi , Emmo leaning on Nige right to the last corner and then turn round and say the racing wasn't quality then they aren't race fans.
The engine debacle is what ultimately ruined the series.
In concept it was brilliant.
The weather at Silverstone was not good and they couldn't practice due to not enough working engines being available.
I am saddened but not surprised about its demise.

GPM the past, F1 the present, GP2 the future. Would have worked well as lineup for a weekend.
With Thoroughbred F1 (or whatever it's called now) and the spectacle of the local driver driving their old F1 car for a couple of parade laps (eg: Mansell in a Lotus at Silverstone)GPM the past, F1 the present, GP2 the future. Would have worked well as lineup for a weekend.
Doubt they'd sustain 18 races, though, unless they rotated the drivers. Did always wonder why TF1 and GP Masters didn't tie up with A1GP, that would have been an excellent package
