gallardo inspection (pre purchase)
Discussion
hi guys, i've found my perfect gallardo. but i would like to know if its a dog. it will have a 1 year warranty (non lambo, its an 04), unlimited number of claims, max per claim £3000 - its the last bit that scares me.
the AA wont inspect lambos (i always used them before), im buying from a non lambo main dealer, (and we're miles from a lambo dealer, so its not practicle for them to look at it) who sold it to the current owner 6 months ago.
who should i get to check it out, and what would be your main concerns?
so far i have concentrated on the clutch, melted rear lights, suspension bushes etc. so far so good.
i know a compression test needs to be done, but otherwise i am clueless, and the thought of needing a £30k ish engine replacement terrifies me.
is there a national company who can do a FULL report for me?
any input gratefully recieved.

Given your location, I'd get Lamborghini Wycombe to give it an independent check, if I were you. The techies are very familiar with the G and should pick up any faults.
It'll cost but it'll be a lot of piece of mind. Gallardos are generally robust but all supercars need to be warmed up and treated with some respect, and not all drivers seem to give a rats ass. Perhaps one reason why manuals seem to fair worse than Egear. A manual is so much easier for someone on a test drive to just rag the arse off, an Egear takes some getting used to and is less familair initially.
BTW. Melted rear lights? Where'd you get that from? The rear lenses are in a seperate area to the exhaust. For heat to get to them and affect them in any way, the rear bumper would already have been reduced to a pool of ABS. They can mist up though but that's about it.
Good luck.
