Cant wait, really looking forward to driving this fabulous circuit. I have read a few tips on how fast it is. a bit different from Castle Combe as thats the only other circuit i have driven.

Anyone else going along for the day?

Good on ya; you'll enjoy it immensely! I'm not making this one, but I've driven it a half dozen or so times in the past, and will be there again in November. Before I go I usually watch the video on Gregor Fiskens' site: (http://www.fiskens.com). It's three laps of him in a lightweight Jag in 1999, and since there's virtually no one else on the circuit with him, you get a very good idea of what it's all about. The only difference between then and now is that it's been completely resurfaced, so it's now all one color. UK Circuit Guide describes it like this: Madgwick Corners and St. Mary's, where Stirling Moss's career came to its horrible end, are undoubtedly the most taxing for the driver, but Lavant should be considered as the most crucial when it comes to time. The entire circuit requires guts and accuracy.

Have a great day - it is a fab fast circuit, lots of quick corners (mostly double apexes). Not much in the way of technical sections though.

Also recommend taking fuel or scoping petrol stations beforehand is good - sainsburys is nearest but doesn't sell super.

Thanks for the praise chaps. i am looking forward to it. i think the exige might run out of legs a bit and i may run out of balls but its all about fun.

I will fill up before i get to the circuit. i tend not to worry too much about super etc as i dont think i will notice the difference.

Thanks anyway and i will report back on how good it was.

Its great circuit and I enjoy it more and more each time I go.The feel of the place makes it a pleasure even if your not that quick. Friendly atmosphere and chatty marshalls. Wish I could do weekday events frown
Your Elise will be fine, with the limited track numbers you'll have plenty of space and will be able to steadily improve. I would recommend an early lesson just to speed up learning the lines - you will enjoy the rest of your day more as you catch up those who haven't learnt them as fast. wink

Good luck!

TC, one word of caution, it is a power circuit, once you to grips with the layout many sections are flat.....however if it's wet be very careful, there really is not a lot of run off before you encounter something solid..have fun smile

But if you're really into Goodwood+sound, check out http://goodwood.co.uk/revival where Damon Hill's in a Ferrari GTO. Once at this site click on 'The Experience'. There's a short clip in Flash which has to run first and then you're asked to pick your connection speed. The downshift noises are musical, the 4th and 5th gear bits at redline down Lavant straight are symphonic, and watching DH almost rear-end the car in front of him entering the Chicane ... is priceless! It's not nearly as good as Fiskens' video in terms of learning the circuit but definitely worth turning up the volume for.

Just great, it took me 3 1/2 hrs to get to my parents, a 2 hr drive normally. woke up this morning to torrential rain and rivers for roads. weather forecast said it will get worse before it gets better and so i made the decision to head fro home instead of the race track. 1 hr into the journey, bloody blue sky!!! I am sick to the teeth with anger at my bad decision. very very cross indeed.
Sat at home now in Devon with blue bloody sky. that is all as i am too angry to type!!!
