Well as a loyal subject of Wedgdom I went to the Ace Cafe this evening topless.
Got caught in the drizzle there whilst stuck on the A40 waiting to get past a pile up.
Nice and dry there, but by the time I got on to the M4 it was hammering down, dark and cold, guess where the roof was , yep nice and warm in the boot
So a bit wet by the time I got back into Reading
A few cars there, but not many TVR's only 1 wedge (me) and loads of lotusis.
The chevy powered Chim sounded awsome as it shot up the road
And I reckon the 07 Lotus opposite me had only been owned a week by the young lady, (Leigh will know who I mean) and she did not look old enough to drive to me
God I must be getting old

And thank you for the burner. will come in handy for making tea etc.
After you left I had a chat with her, she's had it since march, her 1st lotus. she looked a bit older close up. but still young ish. would put her in mid 20's
I promise to have my wedge there next time.

Good lad Paul, The only way is down when an Wedge Roof is concerned!!
I drove down to Shaftesbury at the weekend, Sunny all the way there so a lovely roof down drive, but yesterday, it was raining when i left...only a little bit but i confess, i left with the roof up....

STILL.....after about 15 miles, the combination of feeling like a willy with the roof up
, not being able to hear all 8 fat ladies sing
, (but worst of all) the fear of anyone on this forum spotting me with the roof up when its ALWAYS down
, i pulled over on the 303 and down it went!
Thank god i did!
RULE OF THE DAY-The TRAY-TOP IS GAY, AND THE MULLET SHOULD NOT STAY! (bit of poetry for you all!!)
HAPPY WEDGING!

Oh oh. Roof mafia.......
Whilst I make every effort to keep the lid off, sometimes I have a relapse especially on a three hour commute loaded to the gunnals with gear.
It reminds me of an MX5 I saw once in the pouring rain. It was hammering down and I was thinking this example was a superb cock a snoot at the weather. It was stair rods. The landrover wipers could not cope, you could barley see far and amongst all this was this superb example of no roof in adverse condition. It would make any TVR driver proud to have him in the convoy, all hunkered down, jacket lapel up shout "is that the best you can do" to the god of rain.
I also though it was a strange way to carry a windsurfing board and mast in a small two seater, all sticking out the top like that.......

I once drove my wedge though a snow storm with the roof off. Heaters could not cope, and me and the wife (pre-marriage) both had hats and gloves on, she even had a travel blanket wrapped around her!!..
other memorable moments .. sheltering on the M6 in a torrential downpour after driving home minus the roof. The rain was that bad, the wipers couldnt cope and at 80 leptons, I was still getting wet. A decision to wait it out under a bridge was taken.
