Hi all,

I am currently working my notice period and am due to leave next Wednesday.

I was off sick yesterday and today due to a heavy cold. This is my first time off ill in over a year. Should I expect sick pay for this? It wouldn't make a difference as to if I go in or not, as I really do feel terrible and unable to work, I just wondered...?

(Oh, and I'm up posting here because I was checking my work emails for anything urgent)

If sick pay is in your contract you get it.

If it isnt and it is discretionary, then you might you might now depending on who decides!

As far as I am aware, you're still an employee with full employee benefits whilst you're on your notice period, so you would expect to get whatever benefits you would normally get (eg. sick pay).

(But as Justin says, if it's discretionary then the fact you're on your notice period might sway their discretion)

Yesterday and today as days off sick wouldn't qualify for SSP.

Thanks all. I shall wait and see.

Pay or no pay, I'm ill so wouldn't have gone in whatever the outcome.
