What's this car worth?
Discussion
My sister is having no luck selling her Golf Gti at all. What do people on here think it's worth?

It's been up for sale for six months and she's already bought her next car (an Audi TT), so needs to sell the Golf!! It's in perfect condition, and really is just one careful lady owner - she's driven it really carefully.

seems good value for the spec
Ideal project car for one of the Edition 38 lot I'm sure - http://www.edition38.com/forums/lofiversion/index....
I'd have it myself but for the fact I'm trying to sell a TDi PD130 at the moment

I thought the 150 had a red I or it that just on some.
To be honest the TDi models are the ones everybody wants. You can pick up a 130bhp model for the same money, higher mileage but people don't seem to care.
You will have to drop it every week until it sells. At the moment its just like having a bag full of 20s on the driveway with 1 being ripped up every few hours. In those 6 months its probably depreciated £600.
Also its not black or silver which counts against it and its Group 16.
I've been in the same position and had to accept much less than I wanted just to get rid.
Sorry couldn't be more positive.

That's ok - realism is what I'm after! To be honest the TDi models are the ones everybody wants. You can pick up a 130bhp model for the same money, higher mileage but people don't seem to care.

I saw my sister yesterday and she says she's considering selling her new car (an Audi TT), and then starting again by trading in the Golf. She was offered £7k by one garage for the Golf in part ex for a secondhand TT, but declined the offer, assuming she could get more privately. Now that the private sale value of the Golf is less than that part ex offer, it's looking like a pointless exercise!
i think if shes had the money to keep the golf on the drive for ages and buy a tt and run that then she is probably best to cut her losses and sell the golf to a vw dealership or bring the cost down a lot lot more. when ever i sell a car i look on autotrader to see what there selling for. then you cant really get it wrong.
I think that VW actually offered her not much less than the price it's up for now, as did Audi for a trade in, but she thought she could get more privately! Next time she says she'll be trading in - no question.
My sister tells me that a company that links buyers to cars and sells them loans has now bought it... I'm instantly very cautious about such a thing, but apparently they've left a deposit and it's all going through so far.

hi.
yer this is a very nice looking car but as a few people have said its the TDI's that are popular or black and silver models.
someone will want your car out there but its a case of finding them.
another way is to sell is at an auction with a reserve price and if it does not meet it then you will be able to negotiate with the highest bidder

You could improve the ad a bit. Is it 51/02/52 plate? 3/5 door?

Not true, it is the cost to change that is important. The TT was probably 2 grand overpriced.

Very true, but as it happened she bought the TT, assuming she could get more for the Golf privately."She was offered £7k by one garage for the Golf in part ex for a secondhand TT, but declined the offer, assuming she could get more privately. Thanks for the tips on the ad, I'll pass them on.
