Swap position of A/C controls and stereo?

Its been awhile since I first did the stereo install on my 83 turbo, so I don't remember the setup inside the center console that well. Anyway, I would like to install a stereo with the flip out video screen, but it looks like there will be a clearance issue with the binnacle. However, it looks like swapping the location of the stereo and A/C controls may provide enough distance.
Anyone know if this is possible as far as the connections to the A/C controls and mounting are concerned?
