6 points within two years of getting a full bike license = having to apply for a provisional and do the test again. Includes any points carried over.

I didn't know that. Seems a bit harsh. Anyone fallen foul or close?

Isnt that what they do for new drivers in cars too?

It makes sense, extra reason to stay safe in first few years when people dont have experience of vehicle control or road awareness.

The sensible people will stay safe and gain that experience THEN ride like lunatics... the scummy irresponsible lot will lose their licences. Ace!
(not all people who lose their licence are summies, you know the sort of people I mean)

I agree with that to a point but you can get 3 points from a scamera for 34mph on an empty road. Its very easy to do.

Only for new drivers.

If you are an old git and take a full bike test, you ar not put into the 6 point re-take bracket.

Well, if you've been driving a car for over two years it doesn't matter as you are counted as out of the.. danger period..

Direct Gov website said:
Your driving licence is automatically revoked if you build up six or more penalty points within two years of passing your first driving test.
You will not lose your bike licence.
