Anyone got an idea on this?
After the burn down to Le Mans on Thurs my oil pressure gauge light came on @ idle and the pointer was just above zero. At 4k revs pressure up to abt 50. At 6k revs up to abt 70 (max 140)
I topped up the oil, no change, no visible oil leaks. Called Ferrari dealer in UK, after lots of discussions service manager said not unduly worried as pressure can drop when very hot but said would call Ferrari UK to check.
Ferrari UK WERE concerned, maybe it was the oil filter They managed to get one down to me via a Porky custy who was flying down that day. We changed the filter and guess what.........? Same thing happened on the way home on Sunday. Got it back home but warning light still comes on @ idle.
Not particularly happy with the Ferrari 24 hour assitance either, Prior to the oil filter change Ferrari UK suggested I do not drive the car anymore. As it was the weekend no-one could come out and look at the car. Do the French work on the w/end? The French assistance guy said that it would be picked up, put in storage for "maybe a couple of weeks" prior to repatriation.......Great service for my 120k 3 month old, 1900 mile pride & joy. Waiting for Ferrari to pick the car up now. Not very happy. Apart from that the Le Mans weekend was one of the best I have ever attended.

Hi Jason,

Long time no speak but I've been hearing of your comings and goings with the new 360! Sorry to hear about this latest problem and can't offer any thoughts but just wanted to say hello. I guess I've been fortunate with my 3-year old 360 with no problems so far except self-inflicted wheel scrapes.

You're not going over to Nurburgring for the FC gathering this weekend I take it? See you soon around London hopefully...

Ciao,
Amar

What temperature was the oil?

There has been many problems with filters restricting things, especially on new engines which have too much assembly grease in them in some cases.

What oil do you use....for hot weather/hard use, try a 10w60 like Castrol or Shell (Hard to get), instead of the 5w/40 gnats pi55 they have as std.

Are there any noises (the oil pump chain tensioner gives problems)

Finally, in your post you say Fuel pressure gauge, I think we all know you mean oil, but is it DEFINITELY the Oil pressure light, and NOT the Oil TEMPERATURE light???

Final finally...fight like hell with Ferrari, they'll give you a new engine if you squeal loud enough about your concerns....ham it up if necessary...

360N-GT,

Thx 4 reply, sorry for the confusion, it is the OIL PRESSURE gauge warning light that was coming on not the oil temp. the temp gauge was showing "normal" even at full chat and 30 degees C air temp. The oil I was using was the Ferrari manual recommended Shell 5w-40. I have to admit that I know F**K ALL about engine/mechanics.... hence the post. To be honest I did not get too much comfort from Ferrari with the left hand saying one thing and the right hand saying another!!
There were no audible changes to the car although it did seem to be a tad more sluggish thru the gears than usual, but I just put that down to the increased heat. Do u have any advice......hopefully the dealer will be picking the car up this week....will let u know the outcome.
