What exactly does the "Distribution" department of an IB do? Is it front, middle or back office?

Is it a nice starting point that will lead to good career progression in IB, or not so much?

Cheers bounce

Lol, no I don't think it's that!

It' got to do with client relationships at senior level, client profiling and benchmarking, client planning etc.

Anyone got a better view of this sort of departments, what they do, what career prospects they offer etc?

"Distribution" is a euphemism for Sales.

If you can make money come out of your phone, you'll be very very rich. Smile and dial...

It is definitely not a sales & trading desk - unfortunately!
