After reading through a few threads of Chims not starting, thought I'd post my problem up.
Starter turns and engages, but would not fire at all - It has fuel, so checked sparks. It is sparking, pulled each plug and lead in turn, cleaned the plugs etc....and it would fire occasionally - still not enough to run the car though.
I have a feeling it is the coil or ignition module - is there a good way of testing them?
It could perhaps be the immobiliser - but not really sure how to test it.
I thought I'd try my luck here before taking it somewhere.
Also, there are three buttons under the steering column shroud - one is boot release, one is instrument lights, what is the other? (Probably a really blonde question, but I have no handbook, only the bible.
thanks in advance guys

On mine (1994), and so probably on yours, the third switch controls the fan that blows ambient air in through the right-hand side dash vent. Speeds - off, slightly on and a little bit more on.

Good luck tracing the starting prob. After testing the coil, try the fuel pump relay - fuel pump itself possible but unlikely. Sounds from what you say that might be the problem.

Thanks for your reply, It seems that TVR do like their mad buttons - turning off the interior fan? I thought at first it might be a fan (angine cooling) override switch, but it's not... Now I know, Cheers!
About the fuel pump relay - the pump primes as it should - a couple of seconds, then cuts until you crank it - then it runs - so I don't think that is the problem - more than likely I am wrong.
Just now need to get to a garage to test the ignition module and coilpack - i'm not around for the next few weekends, so it looks like the him will be off the road for a while :-(

Thanks again

Tom
