I am stupid.....stupid.....stupid. I have just put a small dint into the service bonnet, bottom corner about 50mm x 50mm, fiberglass is fractured, also small piece missing from the wing, where the service bonnet meets the wing, about the size of a small grape. The hinge is still intact on the bonnet.
I have been quoted in excess of 1k to fix yikes
Can anyone offer me any advice........anyone done this sort of minor repair themselves. If I have to go down the insurance route then I will.
I was going to have the service bonnet resprayed next year anyway, so I don't mind factoring that into the cost.
Thanks

I know how you feel, mate.

My advice is make it right, properly. Unless you are some sort of GRP expert you will lose more on resale with a 'homemade' repair.

Chris, I smashed the bonnet on my Chim when I by accident started the car and it crashed into the wall (pier) of the garage.
There was a big gash in the bonnet and one of the bonnet hinges had sheared off.
My Chim is Rosso Perlesce which is a notorious colour to match.
The repair was £400 (exl VAT) by a guy called Vince who worked for the V8 centre in High Wycombe.
The repair was amazing, you can not see the difference(this on a 7 year old car).
Vince now works for himself in High Wycombe, so if you want details just PM me.

ETA, When I came to Vince he said it would be easy'er (and cheaper) to fix if it had been the front wing then the bonnet.

Call Gary at BeeGee Coachcraft, New Malden. Not that close to you, but did a super job on mine after someone did a hit and run for a very reasonable price.

A numpty reversed into me in a car park earlier this yr. Cracked the service bonnet, area about the size of a 50p. Repair was done by my TVR main dealer for £300 plus VAT.

Picked up my car from Gary at Bee Gees on Friday bounce. He has done a great job & he went round the car & did a couple of other stone chips that he had spotted.
Highly recommended

I love my car cloud9
