Speed camera action, 3 in 10?
Discussion
The telly man (ITV 10:08pm) just said 3 out of these 10 young lads from age 17 > 22 could be involved in a fatal accident...
Is that twisting the figures a bit?
Fatal *road* accident?
'could' meaning maybe none will, or maybe all ten in a bad selection?
Or is it right, do 30% of men die in a fatal 'accident' (assumed car) before their 23nd birthday?
Anyone else catch that?

The statement is meaningless unless we know the extent of 'could' and what they mean by 'involved'. They could be in the traffic jam resulting from the accident. They could be the ambulance driver who has to deal. They could be the innocent driver of a car when it is struck by a TV researcher. And, I've just seen, when? While they are 17 - 22? which, it seems, would be in the next six months on average. Is that twisting the figures a bit?
The only thing you can prove with statistics is that they can't prove anything.
