re-hanging passenger door

Hi all,

I think I might have to look at re-hanging my passenger door as it is starting to stick when the door lock releases and, occasionally, I get a window motor/position issue. I will have a crack at it today or tomorrow but does anyone have any helpful tips?

Sorry, no tips but would like to know how you get on as I am starting to get the same problem, thought I might just grease the door catch first though

Ok, will do. I will probably have a crack at it tomorrow. I know it is a combination of allen key and hinge bolt adjustment so will just play it by ear. It's as if the door release operates and the door opens only a fraction and then I have to actually pull/lift quite hard to get the blooming thing open. It's always been a little out of true but has got worse over the last day or so.

ive been lucky enough to not have this problem on my Tuscan, indeed I thought it had been solved on Tuscans, after the doors dropping on my Chimaera. Do you or our passengers put weight on the door when you get in/out?

Can you get a trolley jack with a cloth on it under the bottom of the door to take the weight as you adjust it?

Not totally sure mines dropped, it only started at the weekend, it seems to just stick, the window opens as normal and you can hear the door catch operate its just the door doesnt pop open now. Will check more at the weekend.

Same's happened on mine, so v interested to learn how to fix it. Please keep us informed as I would like to get it sorted asap.

Ok, job's done.....However, the door hadn't actually dropped! It was just the door-card that had dropped down slightly (literally a few mm) and was catching on the inner door sill moulding. Took me a little while to figure it out but ended up wedging a plastic plate (3mm thick) under the bottom of the door card where the 3 bolts are to lift the whole thing up - the way TVR designed it means that there are no fixings at the top which you can take advantage of - so had to lift it up with the wedge. Done the trick, opens and closes now better than ever before.

Sorry to all those waiting to hear about hanging the actual door. I have heard that it is an absolute pig to do so I am pleased it wasn't needed after all!

Strange how these niggly little things get on your nerves and then, when sorted, the whole car just feels better!

Just checked mine after reading this, very bizarrely almost the same issue. The door card had dropped and popped out from the top corner. Managed to put it back in, no problem and just had to take it out for a fast drive to check

So you now have a heavy plastic wedge stuck in one door? What will that do to your off your line acceleration? With more weight on one side of the car will cornering in one direction be quicker than the other?
