Bullet / Helmet cameras
Discussion
Chaps - lookig for some advice.
Shot a reasonable about of video footage in the past with a bullet cam (skiing / boarding) using a mates Sony camcorder and wire attached bullet cam.
Now plannign to use a similar system on the Morgan to record a few sunday drives etc. Looking around to source a bullet cam and things appear to ahve moved on a little.
Was planning to get Sony DV camcorder and bulletcam (same kit I was used to, though not brilliant it did work).
New setups are either
1. Battery powered stand alone bulletcam with SD card built in. No cables / leads etc, but limited for recording.
2. Bulletcam with camcorder as I used before. Camcorders with AV inputs seem to be less and less available. Ideally I want a HDD dv cam (better + faster to get stuff onto PC). Anyone know one that will work?
3. Dont' need a camcorder - jhsut a bulletcam and a DV recorder. E.g. the dogcam setups like this

Anyone used a 'PVR' or similar device - are they any good? Basically I don't want to spend the price of a cheap DV camcorder to get a dodgy chinese DV player thats erraatic. Equally if they are decent I'd rather be HDD based than tape based. Plus it's a handy video recorder I guess!

Got all my gear from these guys http://www.actioncameras.co.uk/
They do all sorts, including hard drive recorders, mounts, bullet cams, camcorders. Give them a ring with your requirements; I found them very helpful.

Thanks - having done some more searches - just search on this forum for 'bullet' - not 'bullet camera' - and you'll find a multitude of threads.
I'll try and colalte this onto this post with some info on the various options I've discovered and the various issues relating to the different choices.
Perhaps then we can get some detail feedback from people using the different solutions and perhaps compare some footage to give others the kind of idea of what they can produce given the kit / budget contraints they have.
