Thought it would be a good idea to get some feedback from Drivers and Teams [only] on what would be good in terms of Hospitality by the EERC in 2008.
Having seen what was put together at Brands A1 GP weekend, which i thought was great and bearing in mind JT and the crew read these forums, we should tell them what we want.

Breakfast Buffet
Light lunch depending on the race timing
Beer, wines and soft drinks during the presentations etc
Tea Coffee and water all day?
Link to Circuit TV where possible?

Drivers and Teams only?
what about Guests

PLEASE DONT BOTHER PUTTING YOUR COMMENTS IN UNLESS YOU ARE GOING TO BE COMPETING IN BRITCAR IN 2008

Steve, hospitality is all well and good but it does cost money! Ultimately, the competitors pay for all of it and whilst some may like it others may not.

However, for my two penny worth I would like tea and coffe all day with something going on in the evening if it is a two day meeting - rather like the Dutch Super Cars. It would help unite the paddock and be good fun.

Oh, you may decide to ignore my comments because I have not made up my mind about 2008 yet. I await to see the regulations and then I will decide.

Cheers,

Richard.

Richard

Thanks for your input, appreciate what you say about the commercial side of providing hospitality!

As for the regs, your guess is as good as mine! We know how it works, but it would be a shame not to see you in 2008, we were proposing to buy a new car that would compete against yours smokin

I`m not overly fussed about meals being provided although an all day running buffet would be great. In terms of drinks / apres-race / evening etc then that`s where I see it working but only if it`s a two day meeting, 3 day meetings are even better. If the meetings are 1 day afairs then I don`t think there is much point. Certainly you`ll not be drinking beer if you then have to set off back home afterwards, it only works if you are stopping at the circuit that night.

In an ideal world you`d cater for drivers and teams, not sure you`d want to be undertaking hospitality for all the team`s sponsors, friends & paddock accesories - you`d need an almighty big set up to cope with 40 teams worth.

I`ve always felt a great part of a meeting is chewing the fat after the race. If it`s a Saturday race then stop over that night and drive home Sunday. If it`s Friday qualify then make sure the hospitality is up and running that night as well as Saturday. The one problem I do envisage is the race circuit taking another booking on Sunday if we are racing Sat & chucking everyone off.

And your point being ?

I see no one objecting to your suggestions smile

Were we to compete next year we may try and arrange some form of hot tub sponsorship deal along the lines of 2006.

I would probably look to a higher power than Pete to arrange the totty this time though. What we need is an adult internet sponsor for that kind of thing wink

That would get me into far too much trouble.....
Getting the totty is easy, but let's face it, do they really look that nice, plastered in make up, bearing no resemblance to the picture they show on their portfolio cos they have been airbrushed from a size 12 to size 8 with all their zits covered up.....
And if they ever got in the hot tub.... their makeup may come off and they look even uglier….

Maybe Claire would wear a bikini?

Ooopsyikes
