Hi just been to Poland for a wedding, got back to move the Cerb off the drive (been there 2 weeks)as we are having an extention, wouldnt turn over.

Got the builders to push me across the road, parked up closed the door pressed the fob.

Went to jump start it today and I cant get in! Im in the AA but I havent got a home start. Thought about pushing it 1/4 mile and then calling the AA but I have some corners to contend with!

Other than smashing the window, what should I do?

Probably best to contact the previous owner who should have explained it to you or the place you get it serviced. I doubt anyone on here will post and tell you for obvious reasons

Cheers

Right, spoke to the guy who sold me the car who identified the technique to get in. Problem is once I got in the fail safe mechanism came away in my hand! (I think it was already broken).

Any ideas now?

wonder if you could look at the wiring diagrams (i think byker28i profile) and see which lead in the window control box needs 12v to lower the window and apply 12v to it and make the window magically go down?

Cheers for the info guys,
I thought I would ring up Paul Forest in Kirkham and sounds like the wiring idea wouldn't work so he has suggested that I get it towed to his garage in Kirkham from Manchester. He will then take off the exhaust manifold to allow access to the starter motor so he can wire it up which should then allow me to open up the car door, turn the bonnet catch, replace the battery, and finally repair my broken 'back up' lever just in case this happens again!

Or I could just smash the winscreen by throwing small stones at 80mph at it, laugh turn the bonnet dial, charge the battery and then claim on my insurance.

So does anyone know a cheap recovery wagon and does the Cerb have a towing eye?

You could just put a 12v charger onto the fusebox.

This may be of limited value since you've got the handbrake on. There again didn't your hand brake need adjustment, so maybe not too much of a problem, although the tyre scraping rear bodywork maybe... Are non of Norman's trailers any use? Good luck Matt, Jonathan

Would putting a 12v dry cell battery across the fuse in the boot pop the door open?
