smelly car?

Why does the VXR smell so bad (OK I know I am open to all sorts of jokes now). What I am meaning is clutch, brake, tyres and oil smells when hot all seem to get into the cabin, much more than on any car I have owned before. Has anyone else noticed this or do I need to look for the problem?

It does seem very easy to 'light up' the clutch on these cars...

I am not really sure what you mean with the smells, but one thing to bear in mind - there is no cabin/pollen filter on the Monaro (just a metal wire type cover to the air system intake).

To be honest, I don't drive it very hard and have never smoked the clutch nor tyres.

Mine stinks of rubber after a drive but maybe that's just me.

I had some smells, oil, and found (well Greens did) a plate above the oil filter was loose and oil was leaking really slowly and then dripping on the exhaust, hence the smell.

I've lit the clutch twice on mine, fills the cabin with that "cat p**s" aroma..lovely :-(. Also stinks on outside of steering fluid which has leaked slowly on the low pressure side since I had the car, gets on the pipes occasionally and then whiffo. Always smells good inside and out after a good session though!

Think you need to check, ive owned 3 and never had this problem.

What do you mean by light up the clutch? Do you mean to try to spin the wheels but without enough throttle and cook the clutch instead?
