is absolutely fantastic biggrin

Driving back from Cambridge last weekend on the A14 my mate is in his Vauxhall Agila - think Postman Pats van only in Silver - and while I am yakking to the Mrs about the crap weather coming towards us he's crept up the outside lane and is about to overtake me at about 80mph (you'd never think his glorified toolbox would do 80 hehe)

I'm doing about 65mph so for a laugh I drop into 3rd, blipping the throttle as I go into it - very pro eh biggrin - and floor the throttle.
Before I knew it I just touched the limiter at 6000rpm as I changed into 4th and eventually conceded to SWMBO and backed off at around 100 leptons.

It makes a change from all the tales of woe, and the questions about things going wrong etc, so I thought I'd post it.

Went to Surrey from Suffolk on Saturday night down the 505 and it is flying, then to Donington on Sunday from Surrey and then back on to Suffolk that evening, and it was a real ache to put it away !

See you saturday . . . . .

Popped in to John Eales today to get another piece sorted for the little project that's going on . . . . and could have promptly spent several thousand . . .

It really did get me thinking about the ultimate solution for the engine, and he has it in my opinion . . . Maybe if I get a huge bonus in the new year . . . :fatchancesmiley: :willbeluckytohavejobsmiley:

Y'bugger! I was just thinking it's about time I posted something similar.

I've had mine nine months now and the grin factor is still there - in abundance! Every time I turn that key I feel like a kid again - but with the mother-of-all Tonka toys to play with. Within a few minutes I'm up on the A46 Bath-Stroud Road, almost seeking out traffic so that I can stretch its legs with someone around to see and hear it.
Now that we're at the equinox, the opportunity for early morning runs has left us until Spring, especially for those of us with factory-fitted head lights. Until then, I'll have to make do with more leisurely drives, enjoying some of the subtleties of the Griff, rather than the full-fat, in-yer-face blasts I've enjoyed up till now.

P.S. What are the subtleties?

John has always had the ultimate solution for the engine... it's just that it changes every year or so.

Then fit HID kits.
Best £90 I ever spent.
Pulled into the pub car park for the first club night since they were fitted.
Walked in and the first thing someone said was "Christ, you lit the whole bloody pub up"

Even the Tuscans with HID mains look dim.
Welcome to the all-night hoon.

Glad to see your reversal on the 'are they any good', 'rubbish instructions', 'not made in Germany' negativity... Lets just hope they prove durablewink

We chatted about your solution Steve, but it differs from mine. You posted the development cast of his new solution for TVR/Marcos engine bays and I think it's where I'll end up eventually . . .
