Currently reviewing and updating all our contracts of employment and service agreements for employees.
One point of interest has been the bolstering of the clause that covers the "covert" transfer of intellectual property by employees to competing companies. Our solicitor has christened this the “McLaren clause” as the case has highlighted the potential ramifications of employers in such situations.
What was previously a 6-line paragraph now takes up half an A4 page!
Don’t know if this is actually a legal requirement or just prudent but just shows the level to which this issue has gone.
