Interesting bearing the time of year, but there's been a few guys on here that have recenntly been bitten by the bike bug, and are even selling their P&J's. All good stuff I say, but just surprised given that it's September.

Same here, passed in a September and bought a bike immediately. Learnt my roadcraft in Autumn, lots of roads littered with slippery leaves. I learnt an awful lot in that first month.

I was a May biker baby. Did my CBT just before my birthday, and put my first bike on the road ON my birthday so the insurance would be a tiny bit cheaper hahaha. It all helps!

That was 10 years and 1 low to middle-sized crash ago.
I'm now a self confessed fair weather rider, this doesnt mean I dont ride in winter, in winter the boundary of what is 'fair weather' might simply mean that there is no ice on the road today.

after riding through the winter and summer ( what we had of a summer) i will to be going out when the weathers better. riding today in the wet but not going out for the sake of it. I got the rest of my life to enjoy biking

What? yikes I've been riding longer than you? That's surprised me. Haven't I seen some mental pics of you hanging all over the place at various tracks?!!

Hi guys passed my test March 2006 but havent had a chance to purchase bike due to living quarters!! A flat!! But at a house now with spare for a good ol shed to put my bike in! Thinking March 08 for my 03 R6. Definately selling the car - total convert now. Price of cars is ridiculous when you fase in parking prices, petrol and insurance.

And have you stuck faithfully to this?
Which route did you take? Restricted big bike or smaller bike?

It was August the ninth this year, only done 1400 miles since and I am wondering if I can get past the cold and keep going all winter. I want too. I hope in two years I will have got rid of the chicken strips. smile

I'm currently waiting for my theory test. Once that's done I'll arrange a test date and then work my DAS around that. Most likely going to be late Occtober, maybe November.

I did think that it was a bad time, but I'm way too impatient to wait until spring. Then with the change of the test next year I'd like to get it under my belt as soon as possible. I know it's not until next October, but I don't want to take any chances in case I fail and have to wait for retest bookings etc. Plus I figure I can make a saving on a bike at this time of year and it'd be a shame to buy something only and not have a licence to use it.

Ive recently passed my DAS (2nd September) No real reason to do it now other than wanting to get it over before my 22nd (last sunday) smile

Must admit its a bit daunting going out in the wind and rain as all my training was done when it was nice sunny and actually pretty hot.

Just bought my first bike last week, an 07 suzuki SV650S. So different from the honda cbf i learnt on. Still in that 5 mph-every-where stage at the moment, but im slowly starting to pick the speed up
