Does the postcode entry allow you to input the entire postcode which will then take you direct to the street required or will it only allow 4/5 digits of the postcode to be input which will then only take you to the area?

Thanks!

My 2006 disc only allows you to input the first 4/5 digits - so you cannot nail down a particular address. Pretty ridiculous frankly given the discs themselves are £100 (were £200) and a TomTom for similar money can do a full postcode search.

Come on BMW - sort it out!

I have just purchased the disc and it's no advantage at all over the previous 2003 disc I had installed as you still need to put the street name in to get where you want to go, a total waste of money!!

Does anybody know whether the more recent i-drive equipped cars use the same disk as my 2003 (DVD reading) E46 M3?

You need to email Mick - gilluley@hotmail.com He'll supply you with some nice new disks which do postcode search and have speed cameras and greatly improved routing ability. Money well spent, the disc is also loaded with loads more POI's. I bought it for my old Alpina, have recently swapped it to my MC as the 2006/7 discs that came with it are nowhere near as good.

Pet topic of mine this - it unfuriates me that BMW won't do full post codes.
I've upgraded my E60 M5 (i-drive) with one of these new discs (it previously had the 07/02 disc)

It's still a real pain. I have to go through the information screen now to get the full postode - it takes ages and is really fiddly.
Better than the standard BM one though, and only £30.

i have just upgraded from 2003 to 2006 and i cant really see the benefits. the 3d feature is better but in fairness i havent been anywhere where i could test it properly.i dont know much about the tmc function, does it giude you around traffic jams? and if so do you have to subscribe like traffic master?

How does he achieve all these wonders? And will it work with an 07 Z4?

I have recently upgraded my 03 satnav using the discs provided by the guy mentioned above. It is a massive improvement over the old system and you can enter postcodes, although not the entire code, it then allows you to pick the street and house number - excellent.
Got mine off him from ebay, very cheap incomparison to the dealers.
Not sure if the Z4 system is the same but he will.

My discs were used in my old Z4 Alpina, and are now being used in a 07Z4MC. So the answer is yes it will work, you can also select perspective view which is a great improvement.
