My new wheels have arrived, and i'm more than just a little confusedconfused. My old rears used to be 7 1/2" x 16" ET32mm,and i run 245x45x16 tyres on them. The new rears are now 9" x 18" ET40mm ,and i wanted to run 255x35x18 tyres on these.I realise that i will effectively make my track narrower if i fit these new wheels, but what will the consequence be on the effect on handling?I now have a larger contact area than before, which is what i wanted, but i'm wondering what effect the narrower track will have?

Cheers,Mike

Won't the track width be about the same, just more rubber under the car (i've not done the maths and it's late friday)

yea the track width should be the same, you just have more grip, handling should improve
