I need a new Pirelli 225/50 zr 15 for the front of the Countach. I've checked the usual suspects for a new one and I'm struggling a bit. It's been suggested that I could fit Michelin TB 215/55 but I don't think they're going to look right. Has anyone got a Pirelli I can buy or know where there are some or has anyone fitted the Michelins to a Countach. All help and suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks James

The last Countach I saw was running on, dare I say it, a Toyo T1R which are made in those sizes. Something didn't look right though.

The word on www.lambopower.com is that Pirelli have stopped making normal 225/50 R15 tyres. Somebody on there suggested Pirelli P Zero C which I think are some sort of trackday tyre. I just googled them and found this site http://www.carlislewheelandtyre.co.uk/pirelli_page...

I'd try Mike Pullen as well if you've not already.

Let us know how you get on – I’ll be needing some myself soon. If you do find some 225/50 R15’s check the date code to make sure they’ve not been stored for years and years.

Someone has just called me back to say that Yokohamas fit although I'm not sure about tread pattern. Apparently they are 'V' rated. Does anyone know if this is the correct rating as I do know it's not just about top speed but also weight and accelleration. Don't Pirelli have a sense of history?????

My Countach actually felt better on Yokohamas, and they were my tyre of choice over Pirelli's, though they can be just as difficult to come by sometimes.

Vintage tyres (01590 612261) can get the Yokohamas, 3 day delivery and get this.....£214+vat a pair!! Yep thats right "a pair!" You've gotta love that! If anyone needs the spare Pirelli coming off the front of mine it has done about a thousand miles and if it keeps a beast on the road you're welcome to it. For the record I am of course nothing to do with vintage tyres, ask for Charlie, he was really helpful. So by this time next week the monster will be back prowling the highways and byways of kent.
