Just been through receipts
Discussion
I've spent the last half hour or so pouring over and totaling up all the receipts (including dealer invoice) for my recently acquired 1999 450 (65K miles - full TVR dealer/TVR specialist service history)
The grand total is: £56,566.52 (inc VAT)
The highlights are:
1. a chassis replacement at factory in 2005
at 58K miles (nothing sinister, amazingly TVR agreed a discount) - £4700.00 (inc labour)
2. A new diff assembly and fitting - £951.00 (inc labour)
Purchase price was: £36,210.00 back in Sept 1999
The only recurring problem is the back left brake light bulb - 8 times it has been replaced - just checked it - low and behold it has blown
Awaiting the bill for the new camshaft/rockers/lifters etc and and the front end respray and service.
Sod the cost - it's my new toy and I love
it, can't wait to have it back!

In the end I looked at a 400 which was over £4K cheaper. It had a huge history all with Henley TVR and had had a body of strip down with Henley in 2004. that swung it for me. I figured for the £4K+ I had saved I could if I wanted get the motor replaced with something more pokey. At the moment Im happy and cant stop driving it.
