Very nice, is it a 'proper' 450BV i.e. the very rare one which I thought was about 10 early Griffs only confused.

I know the RV8 is known for its grunt but compare it to a healthy Cerb 4.5 lump, same capacity, plenty of grunt and revs to be had, just to start the AJP/RV8 debate off wink.

BHP CHIM 450 --- CERB 450

3.5 @ 1500 rpm --- 40
59.8 @ 2000 rpm ---- 97
103.0 @ 2500 rpm --- 160
140.8 @ 3000 rpm --- 185
170.9 @ 3500 rpm --- 240
205.6 @ 4000 rpm --- 282
242.0 @ 4500 rpm --- 330
271.9 @ 5000 rpm --- 365
292.1 @ 5500 rpm --- 410
297.5 @ 6000 rpm --- 430

Torque

Just a bit of fun, 4.5ltrs Vs 4.5ltrs thats all.
Agree taking the roof off is one reason I'll never close the door on going back to a rag top Tiv.

Ive been tryng this little mod out

My new AFM is a straight through AFM using the lucas set up. It seems to work well combined with a hotter cam (stealth in my case), an increase in fuel pressure and re chip. Im now getting peak power at 6000 rpm upto to the limiter kicking in. So ive asked the guy who designed this mod to program me a chip that will allow the rev limiter to cut in at 6500 rpm.

Ive got before and after print outs i`ll stick them on when i get access to my work scanner.

Not sure really. I know it's had fresh cams, and its the big valve version of the 430, but apart from that, who knows.

Here's the graph.

My 500 gets 296 BHP @4500rpm and 397 Torques @3000rpm.
Helped by a Tornado chip, K&N filter and ACT smooth bore air induction kit. All measured at the flywheel. At the wheels it shows 245 BHP @ 4500 rpm and 305 Torques at between 3500 & 4000 revs.
What's the difference between the Chim and the Cerb engines please?

Nice numbers, the difference between cerb and chim engine is about a third more power hehe
