So I didn't imagine seeing one pass me on Mortimer Road the other day. There,s a nice Cerbera sometimes passes me down Prince Edward Road. My blue 350i should be back on the road on Friday after almost 5 years in hibernation!

Hope your cars are FHC's - Isn't it a bit damp and foggy up there? Joke - I'm a South Shileds lad - Born in a little terrace house - many many years ago & family lived just off John Reid Road. Will have to bring my lad up to the home town in the SEAC some time (mind it is about 300 miles - will it make it as it seems to have a prepensity to leak everywhere at the moment).
Any of you coming down to Mania?

Sun does shine up here sometimes

First TVR was a FHC then worked my way through the range now back with a Chimaera. When I had the wedges I think they were the only ones in Shields.

That would be me!

I was warned that I'd be noticed driving a white wedge!

How many other wedge owners are there in/around Shields?

My friend says there is a SEAC or at least a big weege with wing (he's not a car fan) by his house, but it's always hidden away...

Used to be another 350i about 5 years ago. A very early 390SE (white) was a regular sight until about a year ago when it was for sale in the local garage at Cleadon Village. Might be the same car your friend mentioned (big spoiler under the tail). Haven't seen it since though. Incidentally, there was an early vixen in the same garage with twin-shocks on each side at the back,a-la early Griffith, the owner had previously fitted a V6 or V8 !

Also seem to remember a red 390SE with TVR on his number plate.

It's nice to see that there is/was quite a bit of TVR activity in Shields.

Do any of you guys go to the TVRCC meets in Newcastle? I was planning on showing up at the next regular meet.

And are there any recommended garages/mechanics round here for servicing and tuning. I'm looking to get it service in the next month or so and I thing a rolling road session wouldn't go amiss. I was thinking of that Performance Cars place in Maxwell street for the service. A friend has recommended Ron Perry in Hartlepool for the rolling road.

I started off using Harrogate Horseless Carriages and now use Hexham.Main Dealers I am afraid but have been dealing with them off and on for 20 years! Obviously their prices are main dealer prices, but have found them reasonable, they are very friendly and after all their years dealing in TVRs nobody knows the cars better.

Not so sure about Performance cars in Maxwell St, Think he is a bit too Nissan 300ZX and Porsche orientated and can be pricey.Have used Harton Garage for my Clan and D type replica and various other oddball machinery.Although they don't appear to be an out an out performance garage they do a solid job.Rolling road wise used McDonald Racing at Lancester despite doing a good job they are a bit on the pricey side

Have thought about going to the TVRCC meetings and think I might go to the next.

You could try R & P Woods in High Heaton. They have a rolling road and set my 400SE nicely when the air flow meter was acting up.
