Hi all - just been away for a couple of weeks and on return I decided the car needed it's battery charging (it was typically flat) - on locking the door (or unlocking, I think) the horn beeps three times very quickly.

Anyone know why?

It usually sounds like that if door, left slightly open.

Smiler.

I sometimes get this problem. I lock the car with the key only, then open with the remote, then lock it. Sometimes, I have had to leave it like that for a while/overnight.

It's an option in the menu somewhere to honk on lock/unlock. It's tied to the key too.

The horn should only sound 3 rapid bursts if there's a door/boot/bonnet open, otherwise it'll do a parp or double parp for open and close if it's been enabled in the dash's options menu...

Check all openable spots, if all are closed make sure your switches are still operating to tell the car that the particular door/boot/bonnet is closed, as it may think the boot was open and therefore left the light on helping to drain the battery...but this too should turn off after a matter of time unless programmed for ages on the menu system...

Turned out the passenger door lock would refuse to lock. I did the manual thing a few times and then it decided to obey. She's under a heavy-duty cover and with it being dark, I didn't see!

All sorted now - thanks for the help!
