I got a parking ticket yeserday that I'm considering fighthing.

The code on it is "CU75" with wording "Unnecessary Obstruction".

I can't find any reference to this code when I do a Google search. Does anyone have access to current full list of codes that fixed penalties can be issued for?

thanks!

Was it a PCN (Penalty Charge Notice). These are issued by Local Authorities as a result of decriminalisation of certain offences. They do not go to a Magistrates Court but are dealt with informally under an Appeals system to a Parking Adjudicator.

If it is a Fixed Penalty Ticket then it is likely that it has been issued by a Police Traffic Warden/Police. If so you can contest by going to a Magistrates Court. The Ticket will explain.

Whilst I do not have it by number Unnecessary Obstruction for PCN, (FPN is a non endorseable Code N2007) if you got caught in London is one of those infringments that attracts a higher level of Charge - £120 or £60 if paid in 14 days as opposed to the less serious £80 or £40 if paid within 14 days.

I might be wrong, but under the impression different forces have differing traffic offence codes to go on the ticket.

Standing by for correcting by someone...
