I currently own a Porsche 997. It's my 4th Porsche and I fancy a change. After looking at DB9's (which I love the look of but think mechanically they are cr@p)I've decided to go for a Maranello (silver with Black leather). I need to use the car every day but only do about 6,000 miles per year.

I'm looking to buy one that's about three years old. From what I've read, the smart money seems to be on the manual rather than the paddle-shift.

If anyone has such a car, I could be interested.

Can anyone offer me some advice on this?

Cheers

I changed from a manual 550 to an F1 575, 95% of my reason for changing was for the F1 box smile

I have driven manual 575s and it's great to use a proper Ferrari H Gate. Getting a gear shift right in this is very rewarding.

Hi - My two penneth.

I've a 550 WSR, which is manual. And I love it.

I drove an early 575M, which didn't do it for me. However, I've also driven the 575 HGTC (or something like that) - and this, and it's F1 gearbox really DID work for me!

I think it's a case of horses for courses (or is that horses for corza's!!)

Test drove a manual 575 and found it tricky to rive smoothly with a heavy clutch but it was my first go! I guess it sepends if it's mainly town or country driving?

Driven a few F1 360s and great fun - really suits the character of the car but with a 550/575 I'm not so sure...
