Help!!

Hi guys,

I am considering going to look at the s series for sale on this site. Its the one with the title "unbeleivable Colour". It seems low milage and decent value at £4k. I would really appreciate your thoughts on this car.

Though it says the colour is BRG it looks lighter?

Anything I should be checking and double checking apart from the obvious chassis etc. Do you think this is good value?

I'm not sure about the one you mean but I do know the red S3C (ref 246192)that is up for £5750 - a chunk more I know but it has had a full body off job with the later bonnet and plenty of new bits, etc. (decatted and the doors shut well too!) so if anyone's interested its worth a look.

I'd sell mine for the right price. Its had a full re-build at some stage and is solid underneath, even the doors and boot shut properly, actually there isn't really that much wrong with it.

Anyway, catch me on a good day and I would consider.

It's hard to tell the condition of a car from an advertisement, unless someone on here is familiar with that particular car. Best bet is to go and have a look at it. I think the consensus on here is that you're better off with a car that's been used frequently and well looked after, rather than a low mileage car that may have been neglected.

Yeah thats the one! It seems straight enough but the seller doesn't go into too much detail!

£5750 is a bit strong for me.

Coolcatmaz: I may be interested, can you forward details/price/pics etc?

what I'm after: A low mileage car or one thats been restored, the chassis must be 100% rust free as I dont have the experience to weld myself. Although it would be a second car it may run in the wet so no leaky roofs. Full leather inside. Engine standard or in a mild state of tune, I am very open minded as to which of the "s's " I end up with, though I must admit I like the idea of 10bhp more than the s1. V8 is out as I'm sure I'll only get a dog for this kinda money.I can but up with the fumes in the cabin as it puts hairs on your chest

dont get sucked into the twist of the key and the great engine note, it will always bring a smile to your face. at standing idle it should burble with no coughs or stutters. If you get chance of a ride, try for half with roof on half with roof off, it'll prove the roof and associated catchs etc work, with a roof up you'll hear the in cabin squeaks etc. Best of luck. Bil
