The nice RAC man has just told me the immobiliser had tripped, this was after I had spent my weekend playing with relays, fuses and wires. Other than shut the driver's door and lift and shut the bonnet (carefully as always) I did nothing else to cause it to trip. My question is - can/does this happen without the car crashing/turning over and could it be the beginning of a fault in my immobiliser?

When you say "immobiliser" I presume you mean the inertia fuel cut-off switch (found in the passenger footwell)? Just fixed by pressing the switch back down?

I've not heard of it tripping other than following an impact but bumping the car hard up a kerb/grounding the car on a kerb can be enough to trip it - doesn't sound like you did that though.

Yes that's the one, as I say nothing more violent than shutting the door/bonnet. At least I know where to start looking if it happens again!

Just another classic TVR comedy problem then I guess - part of the "character" that TVR owners love so much rolleyessmile

That would also be the fuse panel layout that doesn't follow any of the ones in the "bible" nor the one in the owner's handbook. Don't you just love 'em!
