Watching Hamilton driving the Mclaren on Sunday, Was to me just like Senna again. He seems to set the car up the same,Front planted and let the rear play catch up and if there was no T/C ,You would hear him playing with the Throttle looking for grip.
When Ayrton first turned up at Macs John Watson advised him ,that as Prost was very much the kingpin there,To feel his way in gently and to learn from him.
Ayrton gave him a wry smile and said no thanks I will do it my way and so he did. Also Prost used to set his car up with far more understeer so there never a problem with stealing one anothers settings.
If Hamilton and Alonso continue to race like the these Mac drivers of old it will be great.
When Alain went to williams it was on the strict understanding that he did not have Ayrton as a team mate even though he offered to drive for nothing ,Some things never change!

I agree, shame the "tabloid mentality" types don't realise what they are seeing, still you have to remember lewis was born in a Mclaren at the beginning of the season etc

Some of us remember seeing a certain race last year when Lewis went through nearly the entire field like a hot knife through butter - pure entertainment- no inhibitions - no reservations - just a pure racer at heart , we knew he was destined for great things , some said he wasn,t ready for F1 yet when they anounced his McLaren drive , want to qualify those comments now journos ?????

I'm sure that he had stolen ip on the car, or the other cars were paid to go slow or something by RD, or he was lucky etc.....

This seasons Hamilton performance is exactly what his track record leads you to expect, however no one,so young has done this in F1 before,(JV had a blinding first season but was head and shoulders above the compettition in chump cars, so was deemed to be more experienced and he lost the title to Damon )RD spotted his talent years ago and invested wisely in supporting and guiding this remarkable young man, the lure for the sensation driven, drooling media hordes is that he is British,young, polished, good looking, devastatingly quick and as an added bonus he's black. For the tabloid journos and the marketing types things just couldnt be better, unless he was a she, but that will, I'm sure come in time.
Ten years ago Ron Dennis invested in a talented youngster, all of the other team owners should have been aware of him, most of the motorsport journalists were...... thier faith is being borne out. A true super star who I'm sure will have a very illustrious career ahead of him.

And when they have built him up as they now surely will go into overhype they will be the first to knock him when he slips up...tall poppy syndrome , like Damon when he took Schumy out at Silverstone and Mansell when that moustache became just a little too bushy for them

Not at all, there are several young girls doing fairly well in Karts and the lower formulas, I'm sure a sharp team owner like RD will sign up the first girl who is head and shoulders above her peers, it wouldn't be done as a marketing stunt, however the marketing guys n girls and the press would have orgasms over a genuinely quick lady F1 driver.

You know the reason LH has a Senna-style helmet? It's because Senna was his idol. He has a yellow helmet because he's a Senna fan essentially. It's not much of a jump to assume LH has been copying AS driving style from an early age. So I guess he should look a bit like AS on the track!

So... if you want to impress LH when you get his autograph, be sure you're wearing an AS top, not a LH one... like I have.

I think many drivers have tried to copy Ayrtons style, Not many have come close.
For sure if Mr Da Silva is watching from above on sunday is eyes will be on one driver only.

The yellow helmet was chosen so that he could be easily identified among all the other helmets when karting.
