I have been sat firmly in the pro evo section since the days of ISS... i have not even owned a copy of a FIFA game since then. But with my new PS3 gathering dust without a decent football game to play and the new pro evo not out till end of the month i bit the bullet and decided to buy Fifa 08...

What a great game though... After i got used to the controls and the fact it is a fair bit slower than pro evo, i really started to enjoy it. The online side is great, fast and the best i have seen with the addition of many comps to enter. Then i tried the new ''be a pro game''... this is were you play as any one player you choose and get points for tackles, goals, passes, good positioning, defence etc... and lose points if you perform your tasks poorly. Great fun, a really impressive new aspect to a football game... I really think pro evo is going to have a battle this year !

Any one else played it yet ?

Got it and have to agree although I'm a little bias as I've always been a Fifa nut. This incarnation has to be the best to date though. All the leagues (that matter) and if you want you can crank up the difficulty by turning off all the computer assists on the passing, shooting etc.

Online it's sublime, play is smooth and the user interface is very nice.

I would agree, I think Pro Evo has at last got serious competition and in many ways has to now catch up in terms of the polish of the game.

sounds good. My ID on Xbox Live is Banjoluck. I'll keep an eye out and maybe we can have a match

Cheers

Just read it - sorry, I'm on Xbox, not PS3, although if I can work on the director of finances then maybe she'll approve another gaming related investment smile

Anyone played this on the Wii? I looked at it, but it seems to be almost a totally different game?

Want a Wii, but would like a couple of decents sports games for it.
