Last night I had a disaster with my P&J. We've all heard it a 1000 times - accelerating up a damp slip road (cold tyres too banghead) gave it too much right foot in 3rd and the back end went away, ended up smashing the nearside, particularly the door and passenger area very badly. Thankfully I was alone and only suffered some small cuts from the flying shards.

I'm heartbroken and furious with myself.

I call the insurers and up comes the subject of assessment for repair, but let's just say I'm not holding my breath. They've recommended F J Cipa in Seven Kings but I don't know anything about them so I didn't opt for them immediately. I'm about to search the forums and Sprint but are there any London firms that anyone's had good experiences with?

I've used Kingscourt coachworks based in Chessington twice for my Chim.
John (the owner) is very helpful and will collect your car and deliver it at pretty much any time.

Sorry to hear that, at least you're OK and nobody is hurt.

Highly recommend BeeGee Coachcraft (based in New Malden), Gary has been working with TVR's for 20 years plus. You can find a link to his website from ours wink

My sympathies - the pain does fade in time.... Don't beat yourself up too much.

About three years ago I used Castle TVR , they really did a very high quality job and they are all geared up for the insurance companies which might make life a bit easier. Not exactly London but close enough for a serious job (I live in North London). Paint and finish looks as good now as it did then on my Griff, Rosso Pearl as well so plenty to go wrong, and structurally it is still perfect.

TVR Centre up in Barnet have just done a great job on my T350. Ask for Martin in Servicing.

I think TVR Centre send their large scale body work to Castle - that's what they did for me, it might have changed more recently.

Martin is a very nice guy though, I'm sure he'll help (and he's seen every accident under the sun and heard every explanation...)

I can also recommed Martin at Barnet or taking it to Hilton Coach works if very bad =which belongs to Castle - Both give excellent service and will also sort any mech work.

Thank you all for your support. I just got back after spending most of the day waiting for a doc to pull chunks of glass from my left eye, after the A+E doc did the same last night yikes It was a right mess, shards all over the place - I'm still finding bits here and there on my person.

I'll definitely post some pics as soon as I get to see the car again, to satisfy the morbidly curious - guess that means most people here wink Might be a little while though before I get chance and I pluck up the courage.

Tower view race services did a very good job for me ( where M1 meets N circular ). It was a while ago, but I do not expect the quality to have gone down.
I have also heard good things about Austec ( but not used them myself for body work ). They are not in London, but not a million miles away.

The most important thing is that you are around to tell the tale. As for the car, thats why you have insurence. You are not the first or last to have this kind of accident, so its not the end of the world.

No hesitation in seconding BeeGee - Gary's a real magician and such a nice guy. Once you've met him and seen his work you wouldn't want anyone else to be involved.

Thanks mate, I've heard great things about Bee Gee a while ago except I forgot the name of the firm. I'll give them a call today. I'll be chatting to Tower View as well as they did my last service.

Hey Nigel, small world eh? Was it for sale at the time?

Yes I am doing better now thanks - however when I see my empty parking space I get that sinking feeling...
