Now, on the whole, my wife and I agree on most things. However, our allegiance to GP riders is the one things we are at odds on.

I am a die-hard Rossi fan and (now that Max 'the ponce' hehe Biaggi is in Superbikes), she is firmly a Casey Stoner supporter.

The problem is, my son (he's 2 and a bit), isn't sure whether he's a fan of 'Camey Stomer' or 'Valatimo Wossi' hehe So shouts the names alternately during GP races.

It would appear that I need to work on brainwashing him some more biggrin

Anyone else's little'uns proving to be early starters on 2 wheels?

It's not an afro. I have hair just like Rossi's... it's just not on my head.

hehe

Also, is it just me that thinks that Haydon is perhaps the world's most 'average' champion?

ie. won by being consistent with points finsishes rather than winning races?

As far as I'm concerned, if you can't win on a Honda, you can't win. Which makes Wossi's performances even more commendable IMHO.

Agreed he doesn't seem to have the attack mode that the others do. Riders from Superbikes rarely are able to fight or maintain the pace throughout the race, compared to guys who come up from the 250's.

Might be something in that now, but a lot of the greats came from Superbikes, Rainey , Lawson, Schwantz, Doohan etc.

Dunno about kids, but when I'm on the bike and concentrating on counter steering into a corner i start saying to myself "be like Casey, be like Casey" coz:

A) There's been some good shots from the cam mounted in his fairing looking up at his bars n lid.

B) There's no way I could ever "be like" Rossi! biggrin

Rossi...every day of the week. The guy is just a more talented rider. Don't get me wrong, they are all unbelievable, but he just has that little bit extra.
However......Is he really a bandit?

Absolutely.

Wossi is about as bent as a Roman road. Stupendously talented. I think Stomer's very good too, but it's as much to do with the power of the Ducati as anything.

Stick Wossi on the Honda again and GP would instantly become as boring as F1. He'd wipe the floor with the opposition every race.

All IMHO of course. It's just that MHO is 100% correct hehe

Stomer has obviously shone this year & could be argued he was on right bike but then so was CapiWossi who'd helped develop it. Casey has undoubted talent & the bike seems to suit his riding style. Fair play he's won it this year.

BUT for me gotta be Wossi - outstanding talent & adaptability even against the odds. ( & he seems like an alround nice guy)
p.s don't really rate Hayden personally & if I was a sheep in Kentucky I think I'd be worried !wink

I have a lot of respect for Hayden, too. He just never gives up (unlike Hoffman, for example) and spends a lot of time in post-race test sessions. Also, he's not an arsehole.

Our little girl loves watching the bikes on the telly. The colours and the movement seem to really appeal to her. I don't think she has developed any real allegiance as yet, but being 8 1/2 months old its probably a bit early to figure these things out. She also likes motor racing generally - her first visit to MotoGP was at the age of -2 months at Valencia last year, while she will have enjoyed listening to most of last season on the telly, as it was not possible to watch from where she was sitting / bobbing around. We are hoping to take her to a MotoGP round next year, but probably a bit early for Formula 1...
